Flu Vaccine AvailabilityMcKinley encourages all students to get flu shotsFlu shots (influenza vaccine) are available at no charge to all U of I students who have paid the Health Service Fee. A valid ID must be presented. Flu shots are available Monday through Friday (excluding University holidays):
Faculty, Staff, and State EmployeesFlu shots (influenza vaccine) are available beginning Tuesday, October 28th at no charge to benefits eligible* staff, faculty, retirees and state employees. U of I employees should present an ID with their University Identification Number and proof of state health insurance. State employees should present proof of state health insurance and one other form of identification. The last four digits of your Social Security Number may be requested. The definition of benefits eligible: The state or university employee must be receiving health benefits from the state on the basis of their employment and not as a dependent of another staff member. Any active or retired state employee who is enrolled in a State-sponsored health insurance plan is eligible. Flu shots are available Monday through Friday (excluding University holidays):

With respect to your social security number, note the following. The provision of a flu shot is a gratuitous one being made available to you by your employer. You do not have to participate. If you do, we request that you provide us with the last four digits of your social security number so that when state reimbursement is requested by McKinley, you charge can be readily identified and paid. The request for the last four digits of your social security number is voluntary in nature and is not mandated by any statute. Other Flu FactsAll persons who want to reduce the risk of becoming ill with influenza or of transmitting influenza to others should be vaccinated. The 2008–2009 trivalent vaccine strains are A/Brisbane/59/2007 (H1N1)-like, A/Brisbane/10/2007 (H3N2)-like, and B/Florida/4/2006-like antigens. Also see:
